East Cork Area Development was established in 1995 and implements a range of national and EU programmes in the East Cork area. The main programmes are the National Rural Development Programme, Social Inclusion Programme and Interreg IIIB.

If you are thinking of developing a tourism based enterprise, wish to expand your existing tourism enterprise or have a community tourism project in mind, please contact us and we may be able to assist you.

ECAD can offer a range of supports to eligible individuals, enterprises and communities eg. financial support through grant aid, business planning support, group training and collective marketing support through East Cork Tourism.

Grant aid for eligible projects is available at a rate of up to 50% to a maximum of €65,000.  Support may be provided for the development of new tourism enterprises, innovative products and services as well as the expansion or diversification of existing tourism enterprises.  On and off farm projects can be considered. 

Eligible projects include : tourism attractions, activities, community / tourism amenities, cultural / historical  projects, major events etc… A three-year marketing plan must accompany all applications. 

Ineligible Projects : B&B’s, guesthouses, hotels, self-catering, conversion of farm buildings for accommodation purposes, annual festivals, individual websites and brochures.

To date, ECAD has supported a range of tourism enterprises and collective marketing actions in the area.
